Ze García is a haute couture firm based in the city of Barcelona, founded by its current creative director José María García. The atelier of the brand, located in one of the most exclusive areas of the city, offers through the creation of bespoke garments a unique service to each woman. In addition, Ze García includes a prêt-a-couture collection, in which you can find limited series and short collections of garments made in Spain and produced sustainably.
Ze García was born in 2013 from the need and desire of the creator to materialize his ideas. For this reason, the intention of the brand lies in dressing a current woman, although always with the premise of timelessness. Ze García signs a classic fashion style under a renewed vision and a own concept of femininity and elegance. This arises the first collection Black Money, in 2013.
In 2017 the firm enters the bridal sector with its first bridal collection, ELLA. Whose custom-designed dresses are aimed at a sophisticated and character bride who wants a unique wedding dress, in keeping with her own personal universe.
Parallel to the company’s trajectory in the market, Ze García has paraded for three consecutive years on the catwalks of the 080 Barcelona Fashion Week. The first fashion show was Dualismo in 2017, followed by Millennial Couture in 2018 and finally Origen in 2019.
About Jose María Garcia
José María García, was born on August 27, 1988 in the city of Santander. He is a Spanish fashion designer, known mainly for his creations of couture pieces. In 2013 he founded his own brand Ze García, of which he is also the current creative director. He has dressed several celebrities for special occasions such as Goya Awards gala.
José María is a great fan of art from an early age, specifically painting and sculpture. In 1994 he moved to the city of Barcelona. At the young age of 14 he began in the world of clothing by receiving sewing classes at the House of Culture near his usual residence. During the artistic baccalaureate, he decides to travel to Australia to perfect his English and for surprise he discover a new cultural influence that makes him transcend the concept of fashion he knew.
On his return to Barcelona he decided to enroll in the School of Arts and Fashion Techniques at the Ramón Llull University. There he learns everything he needs to be a complete professional, since his studies allowed him to learn different fields such as art history, marketing, or styling. He finished his studies with honorable mention and that allowed him to do internships in brands such as José Castro or ESCADA.
Regarding his professional career, José María was already immersed in the fashion world working for Caramelo during his early academic stage, and later and in parallel to his college studies, he worked as a manager for Hackett, both brands recognized by their tailoring work.
After completing his studies he worked at Karen Millen with a position of responsibility and later joined the Armani team, consolidating all his knowledge and expanding his way of understanding aesthetics, now with a more global vision. He was able to develop as a professional leading corporate image projects, which led him to work sometimes with the founder of the brand on several trips to the city of Milan.
Finally in 2013 he founded his own haute couture brand Ze García in Barcelona.
